I guess I'm the only one who considers Here Comes My Wife to be their favourite of all of them.

reply

If you mean Here Comes My Baby, that almost made it on my list.

No, I meant what I said: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocUrQDXSLVI

I just find something so catchy about it.

I would have answered all of them ( there were far too many to count ) if you had asked me in the 70's ... and 80's. When he became a Muslim leader ... based on Islam using Cat Stevens' celebrity in the West as an endorsement for the "religion of peace", I'd now have to say none of them.

Such a sad situation this guy upheld the fatwa against Salman Rushdie and said if you defame the prophet you deserve to die when the cartoon company was shot up. Now he is trying to make a come back and he can bloody pound sand as far as I am concerned. Still, his music was truly wonderful and I will always wondered how this came about. Very sad.

My Islamophobe Dad thinks exactly the same thing. We had a vinyl LP of his earlier works which I listened to over and over again, and a CD of Teaser and the Firecat, but my Dad seems to have chucked those out since Stevens converted. I'm not so bothered, I just choose to ignore the whole Muslim angle of his life and enjoy his earlier works.

I was a small child during his popularity, but like "Morning Has Broken", and " Wild World" the best. I agree that is cruel to wish death on anyone regardless of dogma, but on YT, I saw his Turkish concert last year, he sounded great, he really took care of his voice.

I used to have most of his albums, and they were fantastic.
Listen to the album Mona Bone Jakon if you get a chance.
Seems like he ran out of creativity towards the end, and maybe moved on to his next gig.
