they should give her better roles

I have to say that everytime i see a movie, i see this woman, Octavia and i have to say that she does a great job. i always notice her.my friend and i spot her all the time in our favorite movies. i think people should stop giving her these tiny one or two line roles and give her something else. a bigger role, something with depth, i think she would do a great job. anyway, thats just my thought :)

I notice she's always playing like "sassy fat lady #1" or "lady who screams." I saw her in Coach Carter and even though she had a small role, I think she's got some talent and could take on something bigger.

agreed, they should give her at least 1-2 starring roles. or at least a larger supporting role.

I think so too. When I say her in coach carter, and remembered her distinctly from another movie, but i couldn't remember what movie. Looking at her movies, I realized it was from the one line she had in S.W.A.T. If she can stay in my memory from one line, I wonder what she could do with a whole movie.

Small part in the first Spiderman, wasnt it?

She signed Peter up for the wrestling match with Bonesaw.

yeah I love her!!!! Ive always noticed her in movies as well with maybe one or two lines. Even though her role on Ugly Betty is a 'bit' part I think it's the first time I've seen a character she's played fleshed out a little more and I love it, I so wish that character became a real regular, I'll be looking for bigger roles with her from now on, she too good.

That's the way it is - Hollywood seems to have a tough time varying the roles for black women. It took The Help (still specifically tailored for her) that she's been able to land a leading role.
