Why the emotional standing 'O' at the Globes?

I thought the book and the movie were both top-notch. When it comes to a great film with a number of great actors, it's hard to pick one you'd vote for. I'm sure people where torn on whom to vote for in the "Godfather" cast.

That being said, when Octavia was announced as the winner people automatically went into that phoney it's a "Rosa Parks" moment. I think Ms Spencer deserved to win but the crowd response was BS. She wasn't "The Help" she play acted "The Help". Besides Mo Niqui already said it all in her acceptance speech for "Precious".

I didn't see anything wrong with the standing ovation. No one FORCES big top celebs like Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep, George Clooney to STAND up for anyone they don't want too. This thread is a bit racist. What the hell does Rosa Parks got to do with this?

This post is very suspect......

I saw the standing ovation having more to do with someone whose been in the business a LONG time with scene stealing roles jumping to super stardom. If you saw an interview she gave after she won the Golden Globe she said "I was just happy to be nominated. Ive been working for years and people knew my face, but noone knew my name. Now people know my name so Im happy"

Actors love to applaud people who have "paid their dues"
