For me, he was one of the more consistently entertaining directors in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
shareIt's a shame he isn't a more regular director. He directed a film in 2009, then another in 2013 and he currently has one 'announced'. If that project even gets finalized it'll be released at least 10 years since his last film. A decade of doing nothing outside of producing Scopion King 4: Quest for Power (2015) & The Scorpion King: Book of Souls (2018).
Deep Rising (1998), The Mummy (1999), The Mummy Returns (2001) & Van Helsing (2004) are all fun films.
Yeah, he was always a reliable popcorn movie action director.
