The thing I don't understand about Snyder is, why does such a mediocre director have such an ardent fan base?

Unlike most directors these days he actually attempts to have aesthetics that hint at the spiritual and transcendental aspect of the films he makes...

People are starved for this. Most movies today feel like they're made by bots in comparison...

They only tend to transcend the amount of slow motion and posing you'd normally see in a film. That's about it.

Propaganda. He knows how to sells himself to nerds. He teased them for years with his shitty plans "If they let me made Justice League 5,i would have made Batman kill Superman then sleep with Lois" and other bullshit like this,and altough they are almost all terrible ideas,people liked this fact that he revealed them his plans.

Hes says he a comic book fan. Than makes movies were he clearly dosn't understand the character at all. Infact im not sure he knew that the Watchman was suppose to be a satire on Superheroes. Everything in that movies just about things looking cool. He also said that if he had directed Batman Begins. Bruce Wayne would be raped in prison. So.
