I thought he was older. And I don't mean Vikings because they are ageing him there. Outside of Vikings, I was surprised because he still looks older.

It's his balding. Other youngish dudes who go bald early also look old as hell (Prince William, Lebron James). Dude's who keep their hair and take care of their skin (and obviously just luck with genes) can still look like kids at that age.
