Comeback?

Seems like he made a comeback with The Visit. Do you agree or no?

I loved it. I hope he gets to finally finish the sequels to the movie "Devil".

A little. I don't think he's ever going to have a comeback in the proper sense and he'll always be hit and miss. Some of his movies are going to be acclaimed decades from now, other might be re-evaluated, others will drift into oblivion.

He's at least broken the downward spiral this decade. The argument for the longest time was that "each movie is progressively worse than the last", but that's no longer true; not that it was true to begin with, but at least it finally silences the morons.

It seems no - from its box office and critical reception(I haven't seen it yet).

I do hope that he can make a comeback. Other directors have had off periods - look at Altman in the 1980s - then in 1992 with The Player - he was back on track - and got to make more interesting films after that(Short Cuts and Gosford Park).
