Yes, Fiennes and Day-Lewis are incredible actors as well.

I would add: Javier Bardem (one of the greatest actors of all time, see "Before Night Falls", "No Country For Old Men", "Mar Adentro" and "Biutiful" if you need a proof), Joaquin Phoenix (his role in "The Master" was pure genius), Matthew McConaughey ("Killer Joe" anyone?), Michael Stuhlbarg (his work is FLAWLESS, haven't seen a single role of his that wasn't amazing), Bryan Cranston (finally getting leading roles), John Goodman (a long time favourite), Kevin Spacey (another "always-have-been-fantastic" actor), Jeff Bridges (one of a kind), Tom Hardy (very versatile), Michael Fassbender (so talented), Ray Winstone (a bit underrated, but you just check "The Proposition", "Nil By Mouth" and "Sexy Beast"), Christoph Waltz (his portrayal of Hans Landa is one of the best performances ever).

I used to love De Niro and Pacino but they've been making so many poor career choices lately that I no longer care about movies they're in. Same goes with Johnny Depp, but at least he had a "Black Mass" role which was great. And Jack Nicholson, perhaps my favourite actor of all time, seems to be retired. As for younger generations, I think Paul Dano, Jennifer Lawrence and Mia Wasikowska are currently the most interesting talents to watch. Also, however not that young anymore, I really like the path Steve Carell has been walking on lately (he was perfect in "The Foxcatcher"). On the other hand, I can't understand the phenomenon of Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo and Ryan Gosling. They're not as good as some people say. And I think Anne Hathaway is a terrible actress.

i kinda like the ex machina girl > mia. brie is good too.

anxious to see garfield in scorsese's pic...

i wouldn't throw reynolds in with those other guys...as bad as you think they are, RR (minus deadpool) has not been good, and i argued on deadpool board that wasn't a difficult part.

It's not that Gosling and Ruffalo are bad, I just don't think they're as good as some people tend to think. And Reynolds is perhaps the worst of them. His acting seems to be very forced. I agree, the "Deadpool" part felt pretty easy. I just thought I'm looking at an older version of Van Wilder gone nuts.

And yeah, I never liked Andrew Garfield in anything I've seen. He was hardly bearable in "The Social Network" and a complete miscast as The Spiderman. Can't even remember him from other movies.
