Hated his Colbert interview

Came off as only into himself and nothing else that goes on around him. I guess I just wasn't expecting that from him.

So he tells Colbert that he's never won any awards which I found so ignorant of him because he refused to acknowledge the existence of anything other than the Oscars and the Emmys. The Broadcast Film Critics Associations Awards are the most famous critics awards and they're televised - in fact most nominees attend the event and happily accept the award. No matter what they may say in private, they do acknowledge the award exists. He couldn't even do that.

And then, Colbert asks him (for a "friend") what it's like to leave your show after 9 years - the perfect opportunity to turn it around on Colbert, at least try to get more details on his departure and new show, or at least make some joke acknowledging the "for a friend" comment. Instead he talks about taking a vacation and how smart he is in Europe. The point of doing such talk shows is to get more people interested in your work; meaning, his job in that moment is to try and impress Colbert Report viewers so they will buy his book. Being completely oblivious to your host (of whom the audience are fans) is the worst way to do that.

He was high as a kite, I doubt he even made a connection to colbert leaving.

reply

Ahh, didn't think of that. It explains a lot.

HE WAS WIRED AS FOOK.

Surprised there wasn't white powder still on his face.
