I really hope he gets an Oscar nom.

His performance in the end of the tour was groundbreaking. He portrayed DFW so well it was almost bizarre. I don't know if it was 'transformative' enough for the academy though.

I would be surprised if he actually got a nomination but god he was good in that movie. I hope he gets some recognition during awards season at least.

I agree. He was fantastic but sadly, he didn't. Not an Oscar mom anyway. Other awards he DID get niminated which he so richly deserves.

I'm honestly not surprised Segel was shafted. James Ponsoldt's films have never been "Oscar friendly" in terms of their emotional complexity and Segel's work was incredibly subtle.
