Hannibal Lector!!!!!

Why did the folks casting the new Hannibal Lector series in the United States not think of Andrew Scott for the role? Is it just me, or does this guy not fit the bill as Hannibal in an amazing way!?

Here's a montage of him I found on youtube (not the best choice in music) at least it's a good example of why I think he would make a good Hannibal Lector: WARNING!!!!! Don't watch the last 20 seconds!!!!!!! It will spoil the entire series!! WARNING WARNING!!!

I think he did say in an interview that he's going to be steering clear from playing villains for a while, after playing Moriarty.

He's much too young to be Hannibal, but I sort of see it in him. He's got the right impression, and I bet he'd be great playing another conniving genius criminal mastermind.

They chose Mads Mikkelson, and I couldn't be more pleased. Mikkelson played the role with wonderful calm and menace. They chose well, but if they were ever to do a young version of Lecter (you know, other than Hannibal Rising), I would be on board for that.

Not to nitpick, but it's "Lecter." Good idea on the casting, though. Scott would definitely have been an interesting choice.
