How old are you? Four years matters a lot in geriatrics.
Fancy 50% taxes, do you? My husband's on Medicare, so I can tell you, Medicare for all is something I want to avoid if I can. The Scottish system that Trump wants to bankrupt us with -- they're both socialists under the skin -- has some horror stories I could tell you! A woman I know who works in Scottish healthcare was stunned that my husband could get the tests he needed -- before he was forced onto Medicare -- to diagnose his cancer as quickly as he could. "He'd still be waitin' if he were here!" she said. He'd still be waiting if he was on a Medicare for all plan.
I hope Trump and Sanders' finances are thoroughly investigated so you can see what a modest house he lives in. I just looked it up -- he has THREE houses, "But Sanders has raised eyebrows over his spending and personal wealth. Notably, he owns three houses. In 2016, he bought a $575,000 four-bedroom lake-front home in his home state. This is in addition to a row house in Washington D.C., as well as a house in Burlington, Vermont.
"...VTDigger reported in May that he made more than $1 million in 2017 -- $885,767 of which came from cash advances and royalties for his book, 'Our Revolution' on his failed 2016 presidential bid. It’s the second time he made roughly that amount, making more than a million in 2016 also." He's what's known as a "Limousine Liberal."
It isn't just Trump's Mar-a-Lago vacays that have added that much to the budget deficit. And I'm not sure if that's per year. But after Obama's spendy vacations to Martha's Vineyard and Hawaii each year, plus Trump's "Southern White House" gambit, I'm for a law that says that Camp David is the one and only Presidential getaway spot, period. If they want to go anywhere else for R&R, they pay for it out of their own pocket, security, staff and all. We've got to shut that stupidity down. And the Missus can stay at the Executive Mansion, vacation at Camp David, or she can get a divorce. I'm sick of this.
Personally, I think Trump watched what Obama was doing and said, "I can do that!" And, of course, make money at it. Another law I'd like is that they have to divest themselves of any and all foreign investments, real estate, the works. That way we'd have no worries about them doing deals to line their pockets.
Although, as I said elsewhere, Obama entered political life as a fellow from the middle class, and came out in that hated 1% of multi-millionaires. If they know how to do it, they can really line their pockets. I imagine Trump's cleaning up.
What pushed Obama into the 1% in office came primarily from his book royalties in '08-'09. That was entirely above board and legitimate income.
If Trump is cleaning up, I'd bet it's not at all above board or from book sales. The real question is whether and how he and Jared are selling off US foreign policy to line their pockets.
Obama was in the 1% before he got in. His wife alone was making over $300,000 a year as a diversity inspector for a hospital, a fake job, and apparently also friends with hoaxers like Jussie Smullette. Once in office, he "sold off our foreign policy" by starting even more wars than George Bush. When he left office, he was partying with foreign billionaires like Richard Branson. He served their interests, a good house negro.
Trump on the other hand is the opposite. His own man, he took the most politically incorrect positions possible prompting all businesses to cut ties with him. He has dropped hundreds of places on Forbes list of richest people and has so far refused to go along with the media in finishing off Obama's war against Syria and the rest of the PNAC targets. Notice that the Mueller probe only began winding down when Trump started selling out America First for Israel First, the exact opposite of what you said. Trump is going to be the one and only president to leave office with less money than when he went in. You're not the resistance. You're the status quo.
300k a year doesn't get you into the 1%.
If you're going to accuse Obama of selling off US foreign policy to line his own pockets you need proof. Partying with Branson after leaving office is not proof of anything except that ex-US presidents get guest listed by billionaires to their parties.
There's no proof Trump or Jared are lining their pockets by selling off US foreign policy either for that matter. I'm just speculating based on the odd favoritism given to Russia, Saudi Arabia, and UAE that one day proof will be forthcoming that they did personally benefit.
And in no way can Trump be called "his own man" when he inherited his fortune from his father.
I'm in favor of a reciprocal action law. If you believe in gun control, you're not allowed to have private security. If you believe in global warming, no private jet. If you're in favor of immigration, no gated community. If you're in favor of censorship, you don't get to have internet. Etc...
