Sexism Claims From Bernie Sanders’s 2016 Run: Paid Less, Treated Worse

When you hold your own party to the high standards you run on, eventually you'll have no one left noticeable in your party to bring up the base and fuel the even more worse candidate on the other side. Digging your own grave sort of speak. Guess we'll see in 2020. Not looking good for Bernie though. Heck, even Elizabeth 'Pocahontas' Warren screwed her chances once she released her DNA testing. Now you got more radicalized further left folks like Ocasio Cortez or Kirsten Gillibrand gunning for the seats.

In the age of #metoo, you'd think liberal women would be more weary of their male liberal counterparts by recording them before addressing their concerns to them as proof/evidence in case things go sideways. Instead it's still word of mouth of alleged-ness.

reply

If Bernie runs again (not saying he should) I'll vote for him again.

reply

If you couldn't though, who'd be your alternative?

reply

I don't know yet. Probably Pocahontas but also don't think she should run. I'd vote for her though if she was the candidate.

I'm using their own word against them. I'm well aware Pocahontas is demeaning. She's my senator I voted for her twice.

reply

Fair enough.

Can I ask, how much of my post did you see? I composed a three of four paragraph post but every time I kept clicking 'add reply' only the first two lines of my post would appear (hence why I got frustrated and deleted these posts).

I don't think there was anything offensive in the posts (yes, I was arguing with you, primarily because I had believed you were approving of the term 'Pocahontas' - you've now put me straight - but I was arguing in a polite and respectful manner).

reply

No worries Malk. Sorry for any confusion. All I see now is the post that begins "Fair Enough" and ends with "polite and respectful manner)."

reply

Yeah, I deleted the other one. For some reason it wasn't posting the whole message (just the first couple of lines). Weird.

Anyway, I just want to assure you, and others, that I wasn't being rude or hostile to anyone in those deleted posts. I did make some criticisms regarding both Warren and Sanders, but I was coming at them from the perspective of a democratic socialist who is, for the most part, highly in favour of their politics yet feels disappointment in their personal conduct (Warren for her stupid DNA stunt, and Sanders for apparently failing to treat these sexual misconduct allegations against people in his campaign with sufficient severity).

reply

I think you misunderstand the Bernie situation since he was never made aware of these sexual conduct allegations as they were happening. He's accountable because he's the guy at the top, but that doesn't mean he can be responsible if he had no knowledge of it.

reply

As I've made it clear elsewhere on this board, I'm rooting for Sanders, or he's at least one of the candidates I'm rooting for, and by-and-large I do think he is a good an of integrity, however, even though he is, of course, not directly responsible for everyone who volunteers for his campaign, I do think he needs to unequivocally criticise and distance himself from anyone who harasses and marginalises women, or any other minority and protected group, for that matter. And he needs to do everything he can, within his capacity, to root out such behaviour within his campaign.

I've tried posting a reply to you on three occasions (on the final occasion I posted my reply in direct response to the OP), and on each occasion only the first two lines of a three paragraph post appears after I've clicked 'add reply'.

Does anyone understand this issue? Has it happened to anyone else? What am I doing wrong?
