Looks taller in the movies

Katee Sackhoff is only 5'6" but I agree with you all; she looks more like 5'8" or 5'9". Hollywood is expert at making shorter people look taller. Angles and perspectives of skilled camera shooting is most common. It's also easier to give an actor special shoes that add two inches to their height. More height such as three inches is possible but it makes walking and running harder and more risky. Also directors can match up actors close in height so that short people don't stand out. Alan Ladd was a good example. He only stood 5'6". Hollywood directors would place short actors next to him in movies. In one movie which involved a female co-star who stood 5'8", the director had a trench dug on the set so that she could step into it, lower her height to that of her short co-star. That was the exception. Today it would usually be clever filming angles and elevator shoes.
