his lawyer should have plead guilty without malice. ruby would have gotten five years and then set free. his fancy lawyer melvin wanted a shoe trial and he got it. the judge for his case was in over his head. ruby made statements after he was under arrest that should have been inadmissible at trial. the texas supreme court overturned the guilty verdict and ordered a new trial. ruby died before the new trial. the family fired belli and the new lawyer was going to plead guilty. i almost felt bad for ruby. he thought he was doing the right thing by killing oswald. he did manage to create crazy conspiracy theories.
