Age Could be a Factor

Henry Cavill and now Tyler Hoechlin have had shots at the iconic Superman role in place of Brandon. Reluctantly, I'm starting to realize it's most likely because time went fast and it's ten years later and actors like Cavill (33) and Hoechlin (27) have some prime years on Brandon. Since his 2006 stab at the role didn't fare too well, all this time went by when, if given the chance, Brandon could have had more shots at it. This has been discussed on this board before, so please forgive me. I think Brandon was fine in Superman Returns but by the time they resurrected the character yet again for Man of Steel, perhaps the production people just felt a younger actor would be suitable. That doesn't mean I will ever see a movie, Superman or otherwise, with Cavill in it. It's just this comical idea I have that Cavill simply stole Brandon's part, and I will never let that go. JMHO!

It has nothing to do with age.
Brandon's Superman was not well received with audiences.
Man of Steel was a reboot, not a sequel. There is no way they would have chosen the same guy to play Superman, that would make no sense. If a film flops you don't choose the same actor for the same role in the reboot. They wanted to distance themselves from the 2005 film. They completely created a new look, new score, new cast.
Ben Affleck first played Batman at 43, while Christian Bale was 38 when he last played it. Age is not the issue. As much as I like Brandon, I prefer Henry as Superman. I hated how they changed Brandon's eyes for his movie. It looked so bad.

For men, age is not as important. Harrison Ford was 38 when he starred in Raiders.

Wouldn't it be weird though seeing him as Superman as he is lead character in LoT and just now did a crossover with Supergirl? Yes I know that it's not the same thing, just saying. He could easily do Clark today at his age because he's aged really well, but I'd prefer Emma Stone or Gemma Arterton as Lois.
