The success of that show was based on George's charm, not his physique. Steve didn't have that. I'm pretty sure you are kidding.

TAOS ran from 1952 to 1958 and was low budgeted. In that time frame Reeves film career was meager.

At the peak of his career ( 1958 to 1964,), Reeves was the highest-paid actor in Europe. By 1964, Reeves said his fee was $250,000 a film .

So he could have done both. But he made a lot more with the Italians.
