Yikess, this dude has The Batman now...

I was quite disappointed in "War for The Planet of the Apes". While beautifully made, it lacks in script and story telling. I think it really suffers on many levels that could have been fixed rather easily had the story teller a bit more attention on the script. So I fear actually that he is not that good of a story teller.

And this is troublesome as he has been given The Batman which can really bring some stunning cinema if done right...

Of his other movies I think Cloverfield was very good and so gives me hope, but his other movies does not quite convince me he can. What do you guys think?

I'm very excited for his batman trilogy, I would imagine them to be very dark and pulpy.

Well who do you think would be a better choice for Batman?

reply

Directing Batman? I haven't given it much thought, but I would have more liked anyone of these guys: Alfonso Cuarón, James Mangold, Doug Liman, Matthew Vaughn, Edgar Wright, Chad Stahelski, David Leitch, Peter Jackson, and while I am at it, I'll throw in Mel Gibson... I think their storytellings are consistently good and shows control and brings new stuff as well. All true storytellers.

How would you have liked?

reply

From your list Doug Liman, Matthew Vaughn and David Leitch would be my favorites. Other than that I guess Garth Evans, Joe Carnahan, John Hillcoat and Pete Travis would be my choices.

reply

Wow, yes John Hillcoat would be a great choice too.
