This man's agent is horrible

I first saw Zachary Quinto at the first season of "American Horror Story" and I thought "there's something special at this actor".

Then I saw him on the second season of "American Horror Story" and was convinced that there's definitely some special talent on him and looked forward to see him on bigger roles.

Then he does Spock on "Star Trek", which I had no interest since this type of movie is too much for my tolerance with boyshness, but at least it was supposed to make him more famous and grant him some good roles.

And it didn't. Ever since "Star Trek", the only decent role he had to use his talent was on "The Slap". At some movies he wasn't even among the main characters and he's never involved with nothing but mainstream cliche huge *beep* movies.

I didn't watch "Snowden" but I'm not expecting much out of a biographic movie since Hollywood does nothing but, with some exceptions, lie and distort biographies.

Hollywood was abble to make Bradley Cooper famous, this expressionless numb man, so what's wrong with Zachary? Does he have a hard personality or any issues?

To name a few movies I enjoyed after the 00s and make a standard of what I find good Hollywood movies: No Country For Old Men, Little Miss Sunshine, Birdman, Whiplash, Wolf of Wall Street, Inglorious Basterds, Johnny & June

Zach actually had the role of Spock long before he did American Horror Story. Zach was quite brilliant in the 1st and 2nd seasons of AHS and I always hope he will come back to do more seasons, but he said a number of times that he had not spoken to Ryan Murphy in awhile. And much to my disappointment, it doesn't seem like Ryan is interested in having Zach come back. I know you said you have no interest in Star Trek, but you are missing out on some fine acting by Zach. Also, Star Trek isn't just for boys. In fact, it was a woman (Lucille Ball) who insisted that the original Star Trek be made and she saved it from cancellation. It was the female fans who organized the first Star Trek conventions, etc. Men actually dismissed Star Trek at first because the majority of the fans were women. Don't be so quick to judge these movies as "boyshness". Zach has also been consistently praised for the role of Spock and critics often cite him as the highlight of the franchise.

Zach's real passion is for theater and if he could make a decent living doing theater I think he would do just that. But he does a lot of producing with his company Before the Door so that keeps him busy.

Zach does have some interesting roles coming up such as Aardvark which is a movie I'm definitely looking forward to seeing. I'm also looking forward to watching Snowden.

Also something to remember is that he is a gay man and unfortunately, major studios are reluctant to even consider him for lead roles. Sad to say, I highly doubt he would've landed the role of Spock if he came out before in 2006 instead of 2011. Zach himself talked about not being considered for big studio films because he is gay in a recent interview.

Yes, I was only considering the last Star Trek.

When I wrote "boyshness", I meant infantile, not related to man. I can't stand flying space adventures or dragons, elfs and super-heroes stuff.

It's surprising to see a very good and relatively known actor being rejected for being openly gay.

It seems to me that he just didn't meet the right person to get him roles that will make him use the best of his talent.

Zach's agent can't do that much if the studio heads don't want an openly gay actor in their films. Zach has made a lot of headway for the gay actors, but there is still a reluctance to make an openly gay man a lead. And keep in mind that Zach is well aware of this.

Here's a link to the interview I mentioned earlier: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/10/fashion/table-for-three-audra-mcdonald-zackary-quinto.html

I thought that it was because he is openly gay that Hollywood doesn't cast him as lead.
He was the standout in Star Strek ,He is a very good actor and charismatic

reply

Unfortunately, this is true. It's disappointing because Zach is such a brilliant actor and Hollywood think it's too much of a risk to cast him as a leading man.
