Doc Martin

I am sure she left to try her fortunes in America. She appeared in the entire first series of DOC MARTIN (six episodes), so she left after that show took it's "break" for the year.

So, she didn't leave "suddenly", she left after she fulfilled her contract. Perhaps you've been watching series 1 and 2 back-to-back (rather than a year apart) which makes it SEEM abrupt.

Personally, I thought it was good riddance. Nothing against Lucy, but didn't particularly like her character in this show. Prefer Katherine Parkinson much more as his assistant.

I really liked Lucy in Doc Martin. When I first watched the TV show Doc Martin, Elaine was the receptionist in Doc Martin's office and I didn't care for her much. But after a few episodes I got used to her and I thought she played her part well. She had a certain vulnerabillity about her in the show like when her father got married. Pauline, who replaced Elaine is good too, but I liked Elaine better. She was kind of comical in a way. It was too bad she left the show. I felt the same way when Stephen Wright (PC Mylow) left the show. His replacement is not as good. I wish they would both come back to the show.

I quite liked her, and I've liked her in other movies as well, but you're right in saying KP is suited better. Not being a Brit I've only really seen her in the IT crowd, but rangers float my boat....

I'm sorry that she left. I really thought she was hilarious -wacky, funny, did I say wacky??? And, I LOVE the Doc Martin series. I'm so glad I found it!

I just started Doc Martin. I came to IMDB to see what else she was in and why she left. I must say I am very disappointed to see she got a pair of Hollywood tits ...they look stupid on her. I really like her tho
