He might as well have never existed. I'm American so maybe that's the reason, though I doubt it's a regional thing. The Queen I care a little more about because that's unique. There have been many Kings, only like 2+ Queens who served and led without a King. Plus the continuity of pop culture for things like the James Bond franchise (On Her Majesty's Secret Service) and the Sex Pistols (God Save the Queen) may be compromised.
