The male hormones (assuming he’s taking them to fully transition) will redistribute his body fat from a female to male form, create rougher skin, cause male pattern/more hair growth, increase muscle mass etc etc. BUT don’t necessarily cease the menstrual cycle whilst/if there’s still the apparatus for the body to do that.....it varies between individuals and any changes are not immediate or potentially permanent.
To stop or reduce the frequency and heaviness of periods it is best done by using hormonal birth control, but obviously a hysterectomy is the ultimate ‘cure’.

Women don’t have periods or their strong hormonal affects generally for about 2 weeks a month.
This is seriously reduced and can be stopped altogether with birth control.

For example, you take the pill each day for 3 weeks, then stop, so the fourth week you have your period. If you were going on holiday that fourth week, and so didn’t want your period, you would keep taking the pill each day and when you came home (let’s say you have a fortnight’s holiday) you stop taking it (week 7) and your period comes on.
So prolonged use can delay or prevent the period.
I believe that other birth control methods can stop periods too.

shareAs I understand the terminology, they would say that while men can technically get periods, it's only a certain type of man that can get them: trans men. Cis men can not get them.

I can see the merits of both sides but I'm pretty sure biology isn't ignored.
