So many of the threads here are complaining about Elliot identifying as a man, but why? What bearing does it have on your life? If you hate it so much, why are you drawing more attention toward it? I don't understand getting outraged about something that doesn't affect you.

This is not new. Applying surgery to the genitals in order to make that person more acceptable for society is something that has been promoted before by different religions. Wokes are not inventing anything here. Female circumcision has been very popular in may African countries for centuries. Many other religions associate some type of holyness to that type of surgery, the same as Wokes.

Plus, because of technology and social media we can get all the hate filled "facts" that we believe are true pounded into our brains 24/7..all the while ignoring/lack of empathy for the other sides feelings/beliefs. I do think Elliot's case is important because is he doing this because of all the hate on social media? is this a way to make more money like the way Bruce Jenner did? I can't speak for others but I can imagine that for a lot of people it isn't specificely about Elliot. It is more about the language that is demanded by some nowadays and the suggestion that you should lie about a persons past. I don't mind calling anyone a "he" if that is what this person prefers, but I won't lie about the fact that this person was once biologically a woman. People don't like censorship and lying, and I would imagine that being a big factor in the way this subject is being discussed.
