Did people back in the old days ever wish to change their sex?

As in centuries ago, has there been any documented evidence of someone wishing they could change their sex or wanting to identify as the opposite sex?

I know it would have been deeply frowned upon the further back you go in history, being thought of as homosexual, let alone anything else. I'm just curious as to whether this is strictly a modern way of thinking among people.

No because humanity was less evolved back then

reply

You and your evolution are such a big enrichment for mankind...

Totally!

reply

LOL

reply

You don't understand the science of evolution.

reply

Or the science of DNA and chromosomes.

reply

Evolution is a hoax and total hogwashery! I didn't come from no mutant fish that had butt sex with a squirrel or something giving rise to a retard frog-squirrel.

reply

hahahaha my biggest laugh today!!! :D

reply

It looks like you've been deleted from history by the man!

reply

it was my choice :)

reply

Well then HOW did you become a "retard frog-squirrel"? :)

reply

You say "evolved" I say "decadent and degenerate".

reply

meh you guys said the same things about gay people you've just found a new group to attack

reply

Same group, different facet. Same decadence and degeneracy.

reply

not the same group, you seem not to know what you are talking about. Its a old religious/ cultural cliche. always talking about and blaming some group as "degenerates".

Funny cause one of the most praised civilizations which ours was based on, the greeks, were gay as hell. Even the Romans to a large extent.

Its just the progression of conservatives and the religious always needing to find an enemy since claims about "demons and spirits" is no longer socially acceptable and you'd be laughed at. So then the church went after those that were unfaithful. then it was divorcees they ostracized and chastised. then gays. Now trans. You guys just always need a scapegoat it would seem.

It's traditionally accepted in India, and happens both in urban and rural areas. It's called 'third gender', and it's about 0.05% of population, which more or less fits the natural prevalence of gender dysphoria.

reply

0.05% you say? Hey, that means we should stuff them into EVERY movie, and EVERY TV show, and EVERY web series, and commercial... because... you know, to show how amazing and tolerant and supportive we are.

reply

I agree. I wish the world would keep this proportional. If so, we would never hear of it. And we don't need to, unless your circle is affected by it.
Instead it's waaaay disproportionate in the media.

reply

I have yet to a see a film with a trans person. and gay still not often

STD

Public defecation in the streets, ritual cannibalism of the dead performed by holy men and casting the bodies of the dead into rivers which supply unfiltered water to communities are also traditionally accepted in India.

reply

sex and gender are different. if you think boys are born liking blue and pants, and women pink and dresses I dont know what to tell you. It's almost like culture and social norms enforce these things.

if you actually use your brain for one second its extremely silly when you try and start defining what "likes and dislikes" makes a man or woman as if it's a homogenous group.

reply

Ah. so you believe transgenderism is learned and not an inborn characteristic.

reply

no..... it seems reading is difficult for you.... care to try again? amazing how you seem to have a simple one lined answer that thousands and thousands of psychology PHD's.. wow truly astounding.

Again what is "masculine". in modern Greece being a top in gay relations isnt gay its masculine only the bottom is gay. but in my country that would be gay as hell.

reply

"thousands and thousands of psychology PHD's"

reply

Sex and gender are the same.

I think you conflate gender with traditional gender roles.

A female doesn't need to like pink to be a female (by sex or by gender). If i like pink that doesn't mean that my gender is female either.

reply

They're sublimely "progressive"!! We should emulate!

reply

Yes.

Can you supply credible documentation?

There's also a king of France's brother philippe Duke de orleans who was known to cross dress.

Yes they were. Also,in some tribes existing nowadays,if someone belonging to the tribe wants to change sex,he/she has to do a ritual, and after the ritual that person get recognized by the tribe with the new gender

reply

You have some credible links verifying this?

reply

This was a form of mental aberration that affected only a tiny percentage of one percent of the population until a few years ago, when it exploded into a huge mass-hysteria fad primarily participated in by teenage girls, with some boys and adult women like Page. One day the novelty of dressing up and claiming membership in a victim group will wear off and most of them will go back to what they really are. The ones who have subjected themselves to irreversible medical damage will be stuck in a limbo of freakhood.
