Should've been nominated for End of Watch

Nothing against the actors that did receive nominations, but imo Pena's role in End of Watch was much more substantial than say Alan Arkins' in Argo or even DeNiros' in SLP. I'm guessing the only reason it didn't happen is because not enough Academy members saw the film. If they did, I'm sure he would've been. I think how much of a campaign the studios and producers are able to put forward has something to do with it as well. Not to worry, though. The cream of the crop always rises to the top, and I think there's more excellent work from Mr. Pena to come, along with the recognition. He certainly is in demand.

Definitely. I hoped till the last moment that there would be a surprise!
It's so unfair. but this is how it works ):.

Cotillard should have been nominated too.

I was hoping for a surprise as well, but like Juliette Binoche has said, an Oscar is the result of a chance encounter. The only control the actor has is their performance. The rest is out of their hands, so the moral is not to win the Oscar, but to always strive to do your best work.

"Rust and Bone" has yet to play in my provincial town. Hopefully it will.

I TOTALLY AGREE with you. Pena did an outstanding job in End of Watch, and I think if more of the members of the Academy would have watched it, he would have been nominated.
