hmmmm well.

first of all, they don't look very mexican. they actually resemble relatives of mine and i am not mexican, or spanish, or portuguese or european in any way.

just because people are brunette, that does not make them mexican.

She's AMERICAN (U.S. born citizen) not a Mexican National. Her mother's Mexican, so that means that Sara has Mexican heritage and I've heard Sara claim that it's part of who she is but she's not a Mexican citizen.

I am truly overwhelmed by quantity of posts and threads making such a remark: Sarah Paxton doesn't look mexican".

Granted, in the case of Sarah, she is only half mexican, but that doesn´t men that many people who are 100% mexicans don´t look the way she does.

It is really impressive how ignorant and full of stereotypes some individuals are! While the majority of mexicans are in fact mestizos, an EXTREMELY considerable amount of us look and ARE white.

Although Mexico does not have a racial census, some international organizations believe that Mexican people of predominantly European descent make approximately one-sixth of the country's population, or about 18.9 million people, thus making Mexico's white population the third largest in Latin America, after only those of Brazil and Argentina, respectively. They are found in all regions of the country, but are most common in the northern, central and western states. In addition, most castizos and some mestizos —the largest ethnic population in Mexico— may, in many cases, be considered white as well.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Mexicans

If we take in consideration that Mexico's population is about 120 million people, and about 19 million of us are white, it means that there are more white people in Mexico than in a predominantly white scandinavian country such as Norway (with a population of about 4.8 million people)

I thougth about adding some examples of popular and famous white mexicans (who are easy to find online) just to show some of the ignorant bigots how diverse we really are and how their "Sarah Paxton" doesn't look mexican argument goes down the toilet:

So now that you have seen how millions of mexicans look like, stop with the ignorant, stereotyped and bigoted threads, posts and comments about Sarah Paxton not "looking mexican", because seriously that's as idiotic as an argument can ever get. Educate yourselves for a change people!

And please keep this thread bumped for future reference about how MILLIONS of mexicans look like.

Perfect response! As a telenovelas watcher, I was always stunned by the way most Americans perceive all Latin Americans as olive skinned mixed race people. There are Latin Americans with pale skin, blue eyes and blonde/red hair, and there are black Latin Americans, even darker skinned than many African Americans. And there are even Asian-Latin people (Venezuelan actress Deyalit Lopez comes to mind, as well as (medially) Uruguayan actress Barbara Mori). People need to broaden their horizons and finally realize that:
heritage =/= place of birth =/= race =/= religion

I know Jewish Mexicans who are "Mestizo" (have indigenous heritage), and from the pictures of Sara's mother's side of the family they look Mestizo to me.
