Expected him to be in Oscar discussions by now
Where is his Oscar bait movies? He hasn't done any movie that was very compelling.
I expected he would have been nominated for an Oscar by now.
Is he going the action star route?
He has a problem that many people in his position have; he was flawlessly perfect in one specific role, but can't seem to parlay that success into something more. He can be a really great actor; his work on BB was stellar. But I don't know if it's his poor choices or his agency, but roles like Joshua were just completely wrong for him (although in fairness that movie sucked across the board. Joel Edgerton as Ramses was the most laughable thing I've seen in years, and I love Joel Edgerton). Every time I saw him in that movie I kept expecting Joshua to call someone "bitch". He needs to pick roles that are better suited to his strengths and type.
