Leaving THE GOOD WIFE

She's signed a development deal with Twentieth Century Fox TV and will star in a drama pilot in the fall.

She's become so underutilized on the show, it's no wonder that she's leaving when this season is up.

Good for her. She's fantastic.

She will be the leading lady.... This is a great news!! I think she will be good in comedy too, I hope they don't limit the storyline.

Yes, glad to hear this. She is fantastic on the Good Wife. A lot of actresses are beautiful but she is knock-dead gorgeous.

I just read that she's leaving the show and I'm ticked off. She's the reason I watch every week all that lawyer stuff has been done before, but her character is unique to television drama. Kalinda (love that name by the way), has so many many levels and layers to her character. I started watching the show at the end of season 3.. I have slowly been watching the previous seasons to get caught up, but I don't know what Kalinda background is, was she a cop, FBI agent, or a CIA operative? I've never warmed up to the character Robin and it looks like that character was dropped from the series. Does anyone know if the pilot she did was picked up? She was working on something with Gillian Anderson, The Fall (unfamiliar with that series), but since there will be an X-Files reboot, is The Fall cancelled now?

The Fall was renewed for season 3, which will start shooting ca December 2015. I recommend the show. Archie's role in it is relatively small but important and well acted. Unlike in The Good Wife, she has plenty of scenes (and great chemistry) with the leading lady. ;)

Archie and Julianna weren't even in the same room when they shot her final scene for TGW. The rumor is that they haven't gotten along for a while. Does anyone think it's because Julianna is the star and Archie was getting a little too much attention or too big for her britches?

That's what many have speculated but its such a petty reason to openly hate someone.
Can't help but see that reason as yet another assumption that strong women can't get along without rivalry and cattiness.

Whatever the real reason is I am most interested to find out what in the hell could have precipitated that the bosses of one of the most acclaimed shows on TV would operate with such a lack of professionalism.

Well, aren't we quick to bring our little bucket to the sexism well? My question was motivated by having dealt with actors and media personalities for a few years, I know for a fact that sort of thing happens regardless of gender. And pettiness doesn't always enter into it. The behind the scenes manipulation of writers and producers for better lines and story arcs can help one career and hurt another. It happens. We are talking about people's livelihood, millions are at stake. So, I wouldn't really typify irritation in that sort of situation, real or perceived, as necessarily "petty."

Puzzled that you would accuse me of sexism. You've quoted me but seems you've not actually understood my point?

And yes I do think it's petty that the lead star who is also a producer and who has won two Emmys for her performance - a person who is, by all accounts, a grown-as$ woman - would go to such great lengths to sideline another cast member.
