Aw, yeah, I posted about it in Film General, but I feel like this could be plastered everywhere around here considering how passionate he was about film! So sad for his family and movie lovers everywhere. TCM won't be the same without him....rest peacefully, sir!

I know! I definitely thought of that and figured we'd all be sad about this news. I'd think for any serious cinephile TCM is/was a big part of their life and by default Osborne and his love and knowledge of them!

Sad news. I loved his reminiscences about the great actors of yesteryear.

Man, it's already been so long since I've last heard that...

A sad day indeed. Best of wishes to his partner and family.

You will be greatly missed by many, Mr Osborne.

I am glad he had a very peaceful ending. Dying of natural causes, in his home, in his sleep, is the best way to go.

I wonderful host who truly loved film. RIP.

I just saw this sad news on imdb 2. He was the consummate host and an all around class act. 2017 is already a very sad year and it's just begun.

reply

I remember him all the way back to The Movie Channel. RIP

He really was the face of TCM. It won't be the same watching without him there. He also does the voice over on The Great Movie Ride at Disney World. May he rest in peace. He was definitely a friend of films.

Very sad to hear this. I got rid of cable 3 or 4 years ago and TCM was what I missed most. Great movie host. He single handedly kept it alive.

I wonder if TCM is going to do a tribute special to him. Probably so. They have a mini tribute up on their site right now.
