Saw him live last night - great guy

Saturday night - 16 Fev - Franco Nero went to cinema Nimas in Lisbon to present his 1966 film Django. All the audience was delighted to ear Nero's story behind the making of Django and how Tarantino found the way to be in touch with him.
Aparently Penelope Cruz met Tarantino at San Sabastian film festival and told him she just spent the previous day filming with Franco Nero. He then confessed Nero was is movie hero and that he had seen all his movies when he was working in a video store. He insisted that Penelope would arrange a meeting with him, but that only happened a few years later when both had lunch in Rome and Tarantino informed Nero that he want to include him in a new western.
Other curious fact was that Django Unchained was originally 5 hours long and he had to cut it to 3. That's why Franco Nero's cameo is so short.
