I grew up with Freaky Friday and A Cinderella Story, that was all I'd seen him in so I was accustomed to him getting the girl. Now I'm watching Gilmore Girls for the first time and I feel sorry for him. Even if he is kind of a jerk in the show. Plus he obviously really cared for Rory, which was cute.

He definitely was a jerk at the beginning but I think they had a nice friendship develop and it was cute that he really liked her. I actually wish he didn't leave the show. I thought he and Rory had more chemistry than her and Dean.
