Cast for Hollywood movie 'Elysium'

News have reported Wagner Moura is the new actor cast in the future "Elysium", from the South African director Neill Blomkamp. It's the same director of the movie "District 9".

What are you guys hoping for? Is it good that our brazilian best actors are moving to Hollywood or should they stick to their country? I believe it's good for him and for us to be seen worldwidely.

Since the utmost goal of any Brazilian these days is to move somewhere outside the country, then I'd say it's good that more Brazilian actors are getting a chance to work in Hollywood movies-- it will encourage Brazilian filmmakers to start working on DECENT movies for once in their lives.

i think that it could help brazil out. look what D9 did for south africa.

It's good for Brazil, but not entirely good. I'm a huge movie buff and I watch all kinds of movies from all kinds of countries. I get very annoyed when I see talented actors and actresses leave their home country to get into Hollywood tripe. And because most Americans' exposure to foreign actors and actresses is through Hollywood tripe, they'll never truly appreciate how awesome people like Wagner Moura are.

I may be jumping to judgement, but if I see Elysium and see Moura for the first time, I might think he's not such a great actor. But because I've seen Tropa de Elite and Cidade Baixa, I know he's awesome.

And Brazil will have lost a great actor in this guy if he stays in Hollywood. That's a tragedy both for Brazil - who loses the actor - and for the U.S., who never will see Moura in his true form.

I don't think he will sellout completly, he's very active on brazillian cinema,i don't think he would drop, he will probably keep choosing intresting characters, hollywoodians or not.
