Nah, it wasn't real, unfortunately. Though William would be perfect to play Christopher. The FITA remake is fortunately on talks and there is a high probability it'll get remade eventually. The movie company The Hatchery LLC and the ghostwriter of author of the original books (Andrew Neiderman) are working on it.
Here are all the updates and news so far for the remake:

If you are not aware, however, Wes Craven penned one of the screenplays for the original movie in the 80s but it was rejected by the producers because of it was too graphic. His version is more over-the-top, but still more faithful to the book, than the movie we got. You can read if for free here:

Repeating, William Mosely would be a great choice to play Christopher. He's a great actor and his physical appearance matches with the character too. I can see him as the radiant, cheerful optimist Chris from the books. AND, it'd be a nice choice for a role to broaden his movie career. He doesn't have much movies to his credit, and apart from the Narnia fans, he's unknown to movie audiences. So yes, William would be perfect for the part.
Many fans of the books, in their casting discussions for the remake in various fansites, have William as Chris. If he could drop the British accent, then he'd be the best choice for the part. Here's something I fished out of DeviantArt, made by a fan. It's a wallpaper with William as Chris:

It was nice to find a Flowers In The Attic thread here in William's message boards.
