Hilarious

If Taylor wants to make people fall for her hard rocker gimmick, she might want to remember her quotes from a few years ago first.

I remember she was asked who she liked better Avril Lavigne or Miley Cyrus recently. She refused to answer the question, insinuating she didn't like either of their music. Her guitar player even said that "Taylor can't stand being compared to Avril Lavigne it pisses her off". She also pretended like she didn't care for Paramore's music in another interview, once again pretending like she wasn't influenced by Hayley Williams either.

Well Taylor here's a little quote from you from right before you turned into a poser: "Music wise, I love Paramore, they've been my favorite band for like three years. It's so cool, they're finally getting on the radio. I have such an eclectic mix, from The Beatles to Carly Simon to Paramore and Evanescence. Avril Lavingne, I still love Britney Spears. Top 100 chart stuff random indie bands, so many different things, music is like my life. It makes every thing right."

She also claims she "has never really listened to many female singers except for Shirly Manson and Debbie Harry (of course, the 2 "credible rock singers" cliche answer) yet she listed every damn pop rock/pop princess as being her "favorites". She LISTED AVRIL as one of her favorite singers, and Paramore as well. Which she claims has been her "favorite band for 3 years". Contrary to her claims now that her favorite music is "Zepplin, The Who, Audioslave, Pink Floyd". The bands she only lists to make herself seem more hardcore and like a real rocker. Funny she didn't mention ANY of those bands before when asked what music she likes the most.

Cut the crap Taylor. You listened to Avril Lavigne and Paramore, copied Avril's poser rocker image from 2003/2004, and are now pretending you're nothing like how she was and that you weren't influenced by her. A joke.

It really is, because I actually think she has a great voice, but her try-hard image just turns me off her and her band.

well i can hear a lot of paramore in her singing style so that is no shock. however when was each of these bit done. people change there musical tastes.

Music tastes change as one matures or grows up.

I remember Taylor saying when she was 13 or 14, that her favorite band was 'Garbage' (fronted by beloved female rock artist, Shirley Manson). Who she also remodels and who I hear a lot in her singing style as well.

Paramore and Evanescence are not pop or pop-rock. They are both emo/alternative rock. They might not have the same rock style as The Who or Pink Floyd, because they are from two entirely different eras. There is a difference between 70s rock and 2000s rock.

Debbie Harry; a female rock icon, her music seems to be a bit pop rock at times (which there is nothing wrong with). Even more more "pop" than what you haters consider Taylor's music to be.

I don't see this Taylor Momsen and Avril Lavigne comparison. If they weren't both blonde and didn't both wear black gaunch all over their eyes, no one would be saying anything. Musically, they're completely different. The only Pretty Reckless songs I can hear Avril singing is 'Just Tonight', 'Light Me Up' and 'Heart'.

It is annoying people act like because Taylor isn't how Avril is NOW, that she "isn't like Avril at all". Avril in the beginning of her career when she was the most popular she ever was, was making the same kind of music Taylor does. She was being a total wannabe rocker poser like Taylor is. Even covering Metallica song

It was only when she released her 3rd album that she began to change into the pop act she is today. Taylor LISTED AVRIL as on of her favorite singers. So it is clear she was in fact influenced by her, and is now pretending like she isn't.

Just because Taylor used to listen to Avril's music when she was younger, doesn't mean she'd be influenced by her a couple of years later. I don't see how she is influenced by Avril or why a person like Taylor would be in the first place. None of their songs sound alike either.

I don't think Taylor is a poser at all. She may try a little bit too hard sometimes. I thought she was a poser when she was 14. She'd come off as some bubbly and innocent blonde tween, when she wasn't.

Ooh! I remember hearing those songs, almost a decade ago! Avril has catchy songs, I don't see how anyone wouldn't have at least 2 of her songs on their iPod. Avril was actually pretty original during her time with her style. Avril's voice is mediocre, the lyrics are a bit cliche', her songs are quite decent with a fun beat.

They are the type of songs you'd listen to on a long car ride, during a rainy morning, looking out the window, eating a muffin or a raspberry danish.

Or when a young teen is going through an emotional, angsty stage. Could be the type of songs you'd have in your headphones, if you're a teenage tomboy riding a bike, on a sunny Saturday or Sunday morning, about to give the Sunday morning paper to your crush.

^ Yep that is Avril music!

Taylor didn't sign up for a record deal, to make teeny pop rock tunes to play on Radio Disney. She wanted to make her definition of real music. She always wanted to make real, lively, gritty, hard rock.

That's why her music is labeled as 'alternative rock' and 'post-grunge'. Because it is!

It does have a slight pop hook, to make it fun loving at times. Whether her fans like 'Guns n Roses' or not.

You can only label her music as 'pop rock' opposed to real rock, is when you hear some of the over-produced tracks on the album. Like 'Factory Girl', etc.

The Pretty Reckless's first album was pretty good. Slightly under-written and over-produced. Considering they were working on it for 2 years, it felt more like 2 months. From the way it was rushed.

It doesn't matter what you 'see'. Taylor listed Avril as one of her favorite singers and then stole her look and ripped her old style/image...just acted more slutty.

No. Try again. I think you're the only person on earth who thinks her rocker act is genuine.

Avril's voice is mediocre,

So is Taylor's.

the lyrics are a bit cliche',

You are kidding me right? Taylor's lyrics are the most cliche **** I've ever heard. ALL of her songs are recycled and her lyrics consists of empty cliche after empty cliche. I can literally go through ALL of her songs and point out her horrifically cliche dumb lyrics. "You make me wanna die and everything you love will burn up in the light" = cheesiest line ever. Sounds like something taken out of a 13 year old girls diary, written about her 13 year old ex boyfriend who 'did her wrong'.

Yeah she got signed to a record label and was turned into Avril Lavigne's slutty twin sister. Making dumb pop rock generic songs that her producer and guitar player wrote and put her name on to make her rocker act seem more credible.
