New album - Who You Selling For?

If you're a fan of 70s and 80s (and I suppose even early 90s) blues-based hard rock, the new album from The Pretty Reckless is right up your alley and I strongly recommend a listen. Recorded mostly live in the studio, few (if any) overdubs, no autotune, this album sounds the way that rock and roll should sound - raw, powerful, organic. Channeling Zeppelin, AC/DC and even a little Alice In Chains, this is a real throwback in the best sense of that term - but make no mistake, this is a band with its own voice and they rise above their influences to produce great original work. Bottom line: I think rock has become far too sterile and "safe", and this album gives it a much needed kick in the crotch. The album is filled with all the stuff you love about classic hard rock - heavy riffs, dark vocals, long noodling guitar solos, even a guest spot from legendary blues guitarist Warren Haynes of Gov't Mule. I love it and recommend it to anyone who likes old-school hard rock and roll.
