If you're too lazy..most of the cast didn't bother to vote..."Democracy in Action??"...

Uh... first off, admittedly I only glanced over the article, but I didn't seem to see anything citing WHERE exactly this information was coming from?

But even assuming it's all true (which I'm not saying isn't possible- I'd just need to know what the source is before I go ahead and assume it), what the heck does it have to do with the fact that they still have every right to express their concerns?? It's not like U.S. citizens are legally obligated to vote... heck, nearly 50% of the whole voting age population didn't vote!! I'm not saying that's a GOOD thing (it's deeply concerning), but the fact is the people have the right to speak their mind about what concerns them regardless of their voting record.

I encourage people to vote, absolutely (and yes, that includes 3rd parties- as someone living in NY which is not even a remotely swing state, I voted Jill Stein myself), but it doesn't mean they don't have a right to take political stances even if they didn't.

Because if you don't vote...are you just being a Professional Victim Syndrome for the publicity??....Very hypocritical still!

Nah, it's not like it was a bunch of straight rich white guys standing up there making a statement after having not voted... if that was the case I might see a little bit what you mean about questioning if it was just for publicity.

But in this case, we're talking about a cast full of people of color, some of whom I wouldn't be surprised if they have friends or family that have had trouble becoming documented, plenty of whom are LGBTQ, and plenty of women as well. ALL of whom have a very legitimate reason to be scared by the things Pence and Trump have vowed to do.

Heck, the man who's playing Hamilton currently, Javier, is himself an openly gay, openly HIV+ Latino man who comes from, I believe, a very low income family.

So yeah... regardless of whether they voted or not, they do have every right to be concerned about what might happen under a Trump/Pence administration, and to speak the truth when given the chance.
