While he's patting himself of the back for diversity...

Yes, he casts Blacks, Asians and Hispanics in roles of white characters. Maybe he could hire some plus-size actors for some roles.

Just for the record, Lin has never "pat himself on the back" for diversity- it's the MEDIA that's been making a big deal about the racially diverse casting of Hamilton. For Lin, it was just a given that if you're making a rap/hip-hop based musical, people of of color (particularly black and latino people) are prooobably going to be the best at that music due to the fact that their communities created the sound, and so of course it makes sense to seek out those people :)

He's never made a big deal out of the casting... it's just that at a time when diversity in casting has been such a topic of conversation, the media and the public made that a huge selling point for the show. The most Lin has ever said is just that it SHOULD be casted diversely to the fullest extent possible, especially in professional productions.

Sure, though, some plus-size roles would be great... I'm sure he wouldn't disagree!

And even if he is patting himself on the back, why is it up to him to forward an agenda that's important to you?

Do you think getting work is easy in this business as a minority? Why dump on someone that *is* making a difference?

Do you think your attitude helps your agenda? If you were to pick a small gift for someone because it made you think of them and then they proceed to tell why it doesn't work for them and what you should have gotten them instead, would you even *consider* ever doing it again?

Also there are relatively very few plus sized people in theater work because required, i'm not saying there aren't plus sized people who can do the extreme physical work required just that there's very few considering to be cast you have to be fit enough to perform large amounts of complicated choreography 8 nights a week.
You need to be very physically fit for that.

Maybe since there aren't many roles only ones I can think of are in Hairspray and maybe Chicago since there have been quite a few plump Madame Matrons in the role. But if he does I don't want the role to be about them being overweight or whatever
