He must be the the brains behind The office and Extras.

After watching both of gervais *beep* movies it seems that merchant must have had a big influence on the TV shows, and from now on i will avoid ricky if he does not come with karl or merchant

Probably The Invention of Lying and Ghost Town.

Well Gervais had a lot of input in Ghost Town, but i'll be honest i don't mind either of them. Invention of Lying is a film that could have been better if Gervais had waited until he was a little more experienced in writing and filmmaking.

But i agree, that whilst they both put a lot of the work into the show i do think Merchant puts the words down and gives them the appropriate amount of polish.

If you have seen Cemetary Junction however, this could prove me wrong, as i'd happily take GT or IOL over it any day...

What...? How can you get experience in writing and filmmaking without writing and making films?
