Irritable Cowell Syndrome awareness

Good on Steve for being the latest celebrity to condemn Simon Cowell and the damage those shows are doing, and to raise awareness for the potentially life-threatening (certainly debilitating) Irritable Cowell Syndrome a.k.a. ICS.
Writer/director Stephen Merchant is the latest star to hit out at Simon Cowell's slew of TV talent shows, insisting the music mogul is "nailing the coffin closed" on Britain's cultural heritage.

The Extras star is not a fan of singing contests such as The X Factor and American Idol and has taken aim at Cowell after discovering funding cuts at London arts venue ArtsDepot.

He says, "If we continue to let places like the ArtsDepot disappear, we're going to wake up one day and find our greatest artistic achievement is a dancing dog on Britain's Got Talent. And Simon Cowell will be nailing the coffin closed on our cultural heritage."

Roger Daltrey, Madness star Suggs, Suede's Brett Anderson and new dad Sir Elton John have all recently lined up to criticise Cowell.
These bastards!

Why are they focusing on Cowell? Steve was complaining about cuts to arts funding, which is a far worse problem.

Never say "Worst movie ever" to someone who's seen Highlander 2

Those kinds of shows have been around for decades, I grew up with shows like "Opportunity Knocks" and "The Big Time", and look! society hasn't collapsed, art, music and performance is still alive, changing and relevant.
