Did she ruin her career with Hillary impression?
It's unfunny and unplatable to most normal people. But I don't think they were even trying to be funny with the piano gag. Is SNL still a comedy? Is McKinnon a comedienne?

shareThat cold opening with the piano the weekend after the election wasn't meant to be funny. However, the show as a whole is still a comedy. And since she just won an Emmy, her career is clearly on the rise.
shareIt was not supposed to be funny...it was a desperate...whatever it was :D
She lost deal with it :D
So ruined she just got nominated twice by Critic´s choice awards for TV and movies, just won for SNL and has tons of movies coming.
shareJust overdone played out Hollywood politicizing. NBd.
shareNo, it wasn't her role as hillary but the way the whole approach of the election that was crazy and memorable. So,people watched and enough to get noticed outside of SNL. She will be in more movies. Like her or not, SNL has made careers for many.
shareShe ruined SNL for me. I've watched since the first episode, through some pretty bad casts, but I'm done after that post-election cold open. The only other time that SNL has had a somber cold open was after 911 and then after the Sandy Hook massacre.
shareSNL can try to act like it's a "regular" comedy show all it wants, and those who share the indoctrinated Hollywood political views will surely think it's still just a regular old comedy show, but it's pretty clear that-- even if they decide to FORCE a segment on rare occasions, to attempt to appear "neutral" or whatever-- that show is now nothing more than a typical, leftist ideology pusher.
