I think he actually could be great.

Have Slade Wilson appear in a few other DC movies.

I agree. He seems as if he can play alot of DC characters. Warner Bros. is making some pretty good casting choices recently.

Role got recast by one of his co-stars from True Blood.

Doesn't the character wear a mask most of the time? And Jim Pallack is over 6 foot tall and not a tiny guy. He is also a better actor than Joe. I have seen him in various things and he has shown he can act. I have asked this before, but can someone point to anytime Joe has done some good/great acting? I have only seen him do shallow beefcake roles. I guess the studio wanted to see more than a six pack in regards to acting.
