It's more rural, that's not a big difference, considering Sicilia is part of italy, your comment does not make any sense. Where else do you have such names, but italy? Italian immigrants and descendants around the world.

actually my comment does make sense. I am sicilian. my dads parents where born and raised in Sicily, and when you ask them if they are Italian, they say no, we are Sicilian. We even have a different flag, its a whole other country. Italians are Italians, and from Italy.

we are Sicilians, more Greek than anything, we are mixed, Greek, Italian, and Egyptian, which is why we have dark skin and dark hair, where as most italians (northern anyways) have light hair and light skin. It is also the reason why we are Sicilians, because we are not "true" Italians, we where pushed into our own country.

side note, we also consider Sicilian our ethnicity, like blacks, whites, all that ... we consider ourselves Sicilian.

It's just another region/island/area of Italy with a distinct heritage, culture, food, etc.

Why are you attempting to diminish the importance of paigejoytroxell's ancestry by lumping her into an ethnicity she clearly doesn't identify with, and calling her by a label she has told you she is not? They are not "just another..." anything! THEY ARE NOT ALL THE SAME! What about that is unclear? The only people I know who say things like you've said are bigots! Sicily is distinct. Anybody who knows the island's history knows that. Tibet is on mainland China, and Taiwan lies off the coast of China, both are territories of the People's Republic of China, so does that mean, by your assessment, that they are all just Chinamen, with a distinct heritage? Silly! Check yourself, and find out what's behind your need to devalue paigejoytroxell's heritage by trying to assimilate it with an entirely different one.
