Maybe it's because Shoshanna speaks so quickly or because of my TV, but I have trouble understanding what she says. Like the season finale, where she's in bed with Ray. That line "my aunt says that it kind of feels like scratching a sunburn", for example.
shareExactly! Sometimes her character talks so fast, it's hard to understand what she's saying. I also found the same to be true about her character in Mad Men, even though she spoke at a reasonable pace. Perhaps it's the pitch of her voice.

I'm glad it's not just me. Yeah, I think part of it has to do with her character. I've only seen her on Girls and The United States of Tara; the latter, I don't recall having any problems understanding what she had said. But it's been awhile since I've watched that show.

Half the time, I feel like screaming at the TV and saying "slow down,Zosia!!".
Anyhow, I saw her on Mad Men and on MM the character doesn't talk so fast and is so much easier to understand. So it's probably just the character of Shoshanna who talks 100 miles an hour!

yes she talks so super fast. i laughed at that one episode of girls when jessa's cocaine buddy was sitting on the bed talking to shosh and he was blitzed out of his head and they were completely in synch with their convo.
shareIt seems to be a trend. Another 'offender' is the lovely, but often incomprehensible, Mindy Kaling. I adore both these women, but sigh and resort to turning on the English subtitles.
