shareI LOVE ALI MACGRAW...MY DAUGHTER IS ACTUALLY NAMED AFTER HER...SO.🙂
shareShe was very watchable at the time - it was only later people piled in with the dismissive dislike. Must confess I also find Jennifer Lawrence and Jill Clayburgh very watchable.
shareI like Jen although I think she was being supported by Weinstein as since his demise her career has not done so well.
shareI was my impression that she was stepping away from the treadmill a while back - before Weinstein was bought down. I might be wrong and even if I'm not it's a dangerous/brave step to take - or maybe she'd prefer a less high profile career path?
shareI think the leaked sex tapes hurt her as she has that cute girl next door look. So perhaps her image has been tarnished?
She did a few so-so films as well, but I have read that Harvey was backing her so I keep going back to that as a possibility.
I was quite young at the time Ali did her films, I always thought she was somewhat popular, was it not the case?

Jill Clayburgh was on par with her 70s counterparts like Diane Keaton, Faye Dunaway, Jane Fonda, and Dianne Cannon to name a few. She also faded away as ageism, as it is today, in Hollywood deemed her "too old" to cast as love interest to actors back then who are still making movies today with love interests young enough to be their granddauthers.
Male peers of Jill Clayburgh are still making movies today with love interests as young as their granddaughters? Hmmm, I'd like to hear of some examples of this.
shareWhen I was young I thought Ms McGraw was extremely attractive. That's about as far as it went.
Comparing her to JLaw and Clayburgh is casting a rather wide net, it seems to me. None of them seem to have much in common.
When I was younger, I thought MacGraw bordered on homely, although to be honest I only saw her in Love Story. Now that I see her as an adult, I would say she's a handsome woman.
Damn, why so much hate for her?
