Was she on the list for Gossip Girls Blair?

Yeah, I'm curious about your Gossip Girl mention also, Gambit. I know we've discussed on another board that Peyton might have been perfect for Gossip Girl, but did she actually ever even try out for it when the pilot was first greenlighted last year? It sounds from what you're saying that she was actually offered the part and turned it down, but I've never even seen any mention or official confirmation of that in magazines or online.

REreading my post sounded like Peyton did audition...nothing was confirmed, I was juts thinking she or her agents looked at all the roles out there during pilot season a year ago and mebbe it passed thru her and mebbe she just wanted to stay in LA and mebbe also as I said before she didn't want to play another teen.

It sounds like I'm punishing her for not selecting roles or pushing harder for bigger roles, but honestly I can acknowledge it is just plain hard out there. I just hate the fact that once upon a time she was such a big soap star finally in her last six months at WT and now she's a blip.

Wondering how soon she'll return to soaps...it took Sarah Brown 3yrs and then returned to GH after a six yr break. ANd now Noelle Beck is returning after being out 13yrs.

Thanks for clarifying your comment regarding Gossip Girl and Peyton, gambit. Even if she did audition for Gossip Girl (knowing that it was going to be filmed in NY), and we'll never know unless Peyton confirms or denies it someday in an interview, which she may never do, there's no guarantee that Peyton would have gotten the part on Gossip Girl. You are right, it's just plain hard in Hollywood. I'm sure Peyton has been doing the best she thinks she can, and she has worked fairly steadily since she left ATWT. It's not her fault that "Windfall" and "Big Shots" got cancelled. That's the nature of the business, I guess.

I too wonder how long before she returns to soaps, if she doesn't get a steady gig on a primetime show this fall. Will she be content to do a part in a small independent movie now and then, assuming there are roles available? Time will tell.

I think she'd make a good Georgina Sparks on Gossip Girl, Serena's bad girl friend from the past who comes back. I think Peyton can play the role way better than Michelle Tratchenberg. Michelle strikes me as a good Jenny type.

Gambit, not sure where to start with your post.... As a fan of PL, your post is actually laughable. Do you really consider "Gossip Girl", a career making vehicle? Really? You should do some research because although "Big Shots" didn't last on the air, it had more viewers in one night with a 10 share than "GG" gets in 3 episodes.. She took a shot at a much bigger network show with real actors who have actually won real awards and are respected, as opposed to another teen drama that pegion holes her career. Smart move for future longevity if you ask me..
As far as ATWT, what makes you think that she would want to go back? Being an "It" girl on a soap may not have been her choice for a future and instead she may have takin the step off the soap to legitimize herself for a future of Primetime major network shows and studio feature films. All in which she has been doing since leaving the soap. She's lucky she is not acting over a sound track of teen cheese music everyweek with nutragena commercials paying the show budget, like the kids on "GG". She has seperated herself as not only a beautiful girl, but a respected artist who chooses wise career moves.
As far as "partys"...... Some people dont like that kind of press. Maybe she is one of them. After all, that would go along with the character of a person who is trying to be taken seriously. And as far as award shows... Pretty sure the nickelodion teen choice awards probably wouldn't be her first choice of hardware to aspire for.. probably opting for a real statue such as an emmy, which the shows and networks she has chosen to work for, could ACTUALLY BE NOMINATED...

But you seem to know a lot about teen shows.... tell me, where is the gang from 90210 just ten years later? thats right, hosting stupid dance reality shows, dancing on them, and god for bid trying to make a comeback on spin off of the very show that killed there career. But Im sure you already know that.... :)

Ho57, I got a doozy for you. What do you say to Peyton doing One Tree Hill, a teen show on CW???? what made you think Big Shots was up for an Emmy? Or Moonlight? or Daybreak? There's also tons of actors on great shows that never find that substantial work again not just teen shows.

I gotta give you credit cuz you are amongst the few who have remained a fan of Peyton despite her leaving ATWT so long ago when she had that amassed fanbase. What made you also think she doesn't want to go to hollywood parties like that Us Magazine Hot in Hollywood party? She hasn't been invited!!! The last party she went to was for her boyfriend's premiere. I hope you don't chastise her for doing a measly photoshoot with Teen Vogue, cuz golly that ain't a springboard for a future career.

Your refute sounded like a defense of why she isn't a bigger star and "being careful with her roles" I know it is soooo very hard to make it into Hollywood. I often worry that she is doing all these "dead girl roles" cuz she has a commercial appeal and not so much cuz she's so dang talented. (case in point, a ten second role in Daybreak).

But, We could redefine success cuz she is constantly working unlike her former ATWT costars.
