Has he ever done a serious movie?

First of all, he really should. Levy very clearly has the capacity to tackle material that's more sophisticated than the typical roles he takes on. He very nearly got the role of Toby on The West Wing which would have been a wonderful chance to show off a different side. His character in A Mighty Wind was quite dark and went through a real emotional wringer. That being said, AMW was still a comedy.

So when all is said and done he has yet to do anything approaching a drama. Someone send this man a good indie script.
