He doesn't. The photographer/stylists wanted a James Dean look. It wasn't a real cigarette. It was the kind they use in movies (herbal).

He probably does since he's done it in 2 photoshoots already and a movie. It's bad but whatevs. A 20 year old young man smoking is not a rare thing.

I was just wondering as well. He's my favourite actor and I love how he has such a baby-face too. I saw photos of him with a cig on Tumblr and it kinda ruined it for me. I find young actors with so much talent and so much to live for slowly killing themselves like this. I really hope he doesn't. :S

He has been smoking for a lot of photoshoots. If he's comfortable doing it for professional pictures then I'm guessing he probably does smoke in real life.

I don't know whether he smokes or not, but I wonder why these photo shoot stylists are still looking at smoking as "cool". I have a very hipstery 13 yr. old son who just yesterday, after looking at an ad with an adult smoking said - what's with this photo - don't they know that smoking isn't considered cool anymore? So, maybe the current teenagers of the world are smarter than the young adults.

It's not about looking cool. It's about dirtying his image and making him seem more mature.

Smoking is never cool. You can give an 8 year old a fake cig and it'll never look cool. You can give a 70 year old, 200 pound old man a cig, and it'll still never be cool. It's just a "dirty image" type thing.

Which on one hand is good for his career. Stars like him and Emma Watson are stuck playing teen films since they have baby faces. The more mature they try to look, the more chance of them having this career last in say, 8-12 years from now. Both of them have yet to be cast as a 30+ character in a movie yet.

Celebrities with baby faces who are stuck playing teen roles, are often not able to find jobs once they get older.

That's just the cold hard truth. Sad, isn't it? :/
