We recently had the chance to put that to Bethany Joy Lenz herself. The delightful young actress told us, "I get that question all the time. I am not related to Kay Lenz, which I know seems odd, because I think we really do look alike. I knew who she was, but I had never really seen her until I TiVo'ed an episode of 'MacGyver' she was in. I'd love to meet her someday and tell her how many people ask about the two of us."

I'm glad other people wondered about this as well; I was just viewing "Dexter", and with the last name and similar facial features, I became curious.

That's exactly why I'm here too.
Just got the latest season of "Dexter" on DVD, and spent a lot of time wondering who she reminded me of. Then it hit me, "Kay Lenz!"

After the show, the credits rolled, and I saw "Bethany Joy Lenz", and thought, "Aha! She's her daughter!"

Came to IMDb to confirm it, but found nothing in the bios, except that the birthdates were about right for them to be mother/daughter.

Then I came into this thread...and was proven wrong.

The whole thing is quite uncanny.

I don't believe it. There's no way in the world these women are not related.

I think they are solid evidence to the idea that we all have duplicates. I think it's more likely there was some hanky panky somewhere that no one has fessed up about.
