The Daniel Day Lewis of the small screen

Anyone agree he is the equivalent to Daniel Day Lewis of tv ?
He can do any accent he wants, completely transforms into any character he wants and he is doing great on the small screen, he seems to Genuinely love tv.
Its funny how he doesn't care to make the transition to the big screen he loves doing series the prove is in Doing chance and the mini series the night Manager

I've only just started watching House after seeing him in Chance and appreciating his acting. But, House is 8 Seasons with 22 episodes in each! I'm retired and good at binge watching but I'll have to break that binge up.

Thank you for your reply. I'll look for those two episode.

Im dying to see Chance and The Night manager but i cant find it online.

Here in Mexico we don't have Hulu so i have to look for chance on a different site and the same goes for the Night Manager. Its just ended on tv but Netflix hasn't added that show to their catalog.

House is a fantastic show with the best tv character ive seen. I finished this in a month and i still repeated some episodes with my sister who just started and some with my father when he doesn't have anything to wtach House is his go to Show.

One of the greatest things about House is how it mixes comedy with Drama and it had a wonderful pilot, the best first episodes ever. Ive watched some other shows and non had a first episode like this one i keep watching them because i know thye are gonna get better but House started so good within the first 5 minutes.

And Hugh was soo great in his acting that every series i start after House i say this would be better with Hugh Laurie in the leading role, I started Elementary and Sherlock and while they have been great i just can't continue them because i still imagine how those shows would be with Hugh Laurie.

I got obessed with him after House like checking every interview he has on Youtube, checking every award he won for House and re watching my favorite moment 1000 times. That good it was.

Very good analogy. The only contradiction I have is that I don't find DDL's performances remotely amusing; he's quite intense (and extremely gifted). But yes, Hugh has range - from the Prince Regent to Bertie Wooster to Mr. Roper and of course Dr. House - yes, he can do them all.

True, Hugh has that small advantage over Daniel Day Lewis that he can go all intense and serious or be totally amusing and funny, Though Daniel Day Lewis was pretty amusing in Gangs of New York actually i felt Richard Roper was very similar to Bill the Butcher.

Daniel is much more focused on Drama it's definitely his forte while Hugh has the ability to standout in Dramas and comedies with no trouble. DDL with the exception of Gangs of New York he just can't do comedy that well he looks like a fish out of water when he is not doing drama.

Now Daniel's advantage over Hugh is that he goes deeper in his researches for the roles he is gonna play he. He is more transformer.
He is change is physical and psychological while Hugh doesn't transform himself physically that much.
Yes learned to do the limp and got the American accent to perfection but you still see Hugh Laurie at some extent.

Daniel Day Lewis goes further in his transformations but Hugh has a much more natural ability to do great in comedy and Drama. I love both i think they are the two greatest actors alive.
