Not a good perforance in Room

But, come on, Sinese Roan in Brooklyn gave the female performance of the year and deserved the Oscar HANDS DOWN.

I hope you're joking, you troll.

Brie Larson gave a BEYOND INCREDIBLE, PHENOMENAL PERFORMANCE, and was the ONLY ACTRESS who deserved that Oscar.

Brooklyn was an overrated film that did not deserve any Oscar nominations whatsoever. Saoirse Ronan wasn't even that great.

They should've cut Ronan and Lawrence, and instead NOMINATED Emily Blunt for Sicario and maybe Marion Cotillard in Macbeth or something along those lines. Hell, Daisy Ridley was better in The Force Awakens than Saoirse Ronan was in Brooklyn.

I loved Brooklyn and the character Saiorse Ronan played. There was something about the flawed but human character that connected with me. I also have liked Saiorse Ronan since Atonment.

I wouldn't say that Brie's performance was bad. Initially I was rather bored -after a second viewing of Room I appreciate her performance more than I did. The first time around I was completely detached from the character of Joy. Part of the problem was the way the character was written (so not really Brie's fault) and I didn't know what they were trying to tell me what that character was all about. (IE she goes through all this trouble to get Jack out to save them from perhaps certain death since Old Nick was laid off and may lose his house and it there is a chance they could be found he would kill them before that happened but then Joy attempts suicide later in the book.)

Joy (which was not her name in the novel, only in the film) was depressed. Even after escaping, she still had depression, PTSD, etc., Depression can lead to suicide attempt sadly.

Ellis was not that flawed in Brooklyn. Joy was a flawed character.

There was nothing to Brooklyn at all, nor was Saiorse Ronan a big deal. It had good acting, a decent script, but that is pretty much it. The plot was almost as thin as tissue paper.

She was FLAWLESS indeed.

Sinese Ronan though.
